Ben week 16 at school
Ben week 15 at school: Winter
From school:
It’s been super cold outside and it even snowed this week! This week the Dazzling Daisies are learning about winter! Do we know the difference between hot and cold? What is hot? The sun is hot! Ovens are hot! The radiator is hot! Morah Chaya showed the daisies some clothing. Summer clothing is thin and loose. Winter clothing is snug and warm. With this introduction,
we looked at a snowflake and discussed what it is and where it comes from. Snow is made up of lots of snowflakes. Each snowflake is different and unique and has its own shape. Just like us! We looked in the mirror and saw how we each have different features and how we are all special in our own way… What can we do in the snow? What can we make in the snow? The
daisies came up with some great snow ideas, like making a snowmen, sledding, skiing, ice skating and snowball fights! In the winter, it is important to stay warm by wearing our coats and hats and staying indoors if it too cold to play outside. We can also drink hot cocoa to warm up our bodies! The Daisies did a snow storm experiment. In a glass jar, we poured baby
oil, white water (paint) and glitter then added in the alka seltzer and watched it snow.
Washington DC: Day Four
On our last day in D.C, we took the train back to NYC, but this time we had company. Asher and Henry and their parents took the train back with us.
Washington DC: Day Three
Today we went back to the National Mall and walked through the Botanical Gardens. There was a Thomas the Train exhibit which we loved. We met up with Asher and Henry, and our friend Mona, from Brooklyn, who was also visiting D.C. The weather was so beautiful that we ordered Pizza to be delivered outside and ate near the Capital Reflecting Pool.
That night we went to Cousin Andy’s house and had dinner.
Washington DC: Day Two
On our second day, we had a yummy breakfast and then worked out in the gym. Later we walked around the National Mall with Cousin Andy and Jimmy. We went to the Lincoln Memorial and saw what is on a penny and a five dollar bill. In the evening we had dinner with our friends Asher and Henry who were visiting from Miami.

Ben: Week 14 at School… Chanukah
Family Traditions
This morning was Sophie’s turn to share her family traditions. Mommy and Daddy came into school this morning and spoke about Chanukah. Mommy talked about light and miracles. We showed the class three different menorahs… one that Sophie made in Pre-K. Daddy read a Chanukah book, and at the end of the school day Sophie will hand out goodie bags she made for the class that contains: Gelt, a Dreidel and snowflake stickers.
